I've been working a lot more with collage again, christmas presents etc,times are hard you know ;), and heres one i made earlier....ta da...i've been collecting old photographs for a while now..do'nt really know how i got started collecting them i suppose there was alway something about moments in peoples pasts that really intrigued me. It is weird when i look at some of the photo's that i've collected, as i imagine they never ever would think when their photo that was taken on that very day, it being a family portrait,or just a normal day at the beach would ever be used 30 40 or 50 years on as a piece of art work or just a collectors item. But here i am in 2008 trawling through many a market for THE PHOTO . If however you're not in the mood for trawling through the markets through the lashings of rain and haggling until you loose the will to live i have a little place for you in Paris that i often visit. You will pay double for what you get in the markets but just to buy a few pictures or just to have a look, is a lovely little shop on rue charlot in paris run by Fabien Breuvart . There you can find precious pictures from the 1920's onwards to the 1970s ranging from €5 to €90 . A lovely lovely shop not to be missed, next to Marché des enfants rouges.
